Hemlock is a beautiful lake with no houses and minimal boat traffic, so it is a good choice for a holiday weekend paddle. The plan is to go for a good long paddle on my favorite lake in the area and then stop for some adult refreshment/socialization after if so desired.
Bring lunch/snacks, water and extra clothing (just in case).
We will meet at the North boat launch on Hemlock Lake and paddle the perimeter for those interested in a PTFL paddle. The length is approximately 7 miles long, but the perimeter paddleis 13 miles. We can adjust to fit the group, but you should be an experienced kayaker and capable of paddling at least 3 mph for sustained periods.
To get to the North boat launch from Hemlock NY head south on 15A. At 0.7miles past the intersection with 20A, take the first right onto Rix Hill Rd into the Hemlock Lake Park. Take the first left and follow the east lake road to the boat launch.
